PJ/CRO Graduating Class 2025-03

Each member of this team of Pararescuemen (PJ) and Combat Rescue Officers (CRO) has endured nearly three years of intense training to achieve this moment. Graduation Day for these men means they officially don the Maroon Beret and take their place as some of the most incredible humans on the planet. They will be called upon to  save lives when and where others can’t. PJs are experts in personnel recovery and combat search and rescue. These Airmen earned their combined medical expertise with the strength and intelligence needed in combat or any other extreme rescue mission worldwide.

Help us congratulate them by sponsoring their families to be present for this graduation event. Donate to the Pararescue Foundation and we’ll do the rest.

PJF is sponsoring a Transition class with PreVeteran

  • Google Calendar ICS

The Pararescue Foundation is committed to helping the Pararescue community to reduce the struggles of transitioning from the military and finding a meaningful civilian life/career. We’re sponsoring current PJs to engage with PreVeteran, a company committed to helping military members and their families better prepare themselves for post-military employment in the private sector. The PreVeteran program is designed to help you create and plan for your successful military transition.  PreVeteran takes a highly individualized, cognitive neuroscience-based approach to this challenge by helping individuals regain autonomy in their thinking and decision-making about this process. If you’re interested in learning more about this program, contact us at info@pj.foundation and we will get back to you right away.

“There's a 100% chance you're getting out of the military, and there’s a two-year gap after you get out of the military that is shown to be problematic across the spectrum. The current transition system gets you at the end of your military career, when your stress is maxxed out and your workload is three times bigger. That’s not working, so PreVeteran helps people plan ahead with a strategic methodology.” Jason Anderson, from PreVeteran.

Celebrating a hero - William H. Pitsenbarger

  • Miami Memorial Park (map)

It's going on 60 years since Operation Abilene and the Battle of Xã Cấm Mỹ in Vietnam. That's when Bill Pitsenbarger saved 60+ lives during a two day battle, April 11-12, 1966.

During the battle Bill refused to leave battlefield and return to his aircraft. Instead he waived it off and stayed on the ground to treat the wounded and fight. Bill maneuvered to and from the frontline to retrieve the wounded, treat their injuries, hide and camouflage them in case they were overrun, and he did this over and over again. Bill continued risking his life until he succumb to injuries from gunshot wounds.

As stated, this event is to commemorate Bill Pitsenbarger's 60th anniversary of that historic day in April 1966, when he gave his life, so 'That Others May Live'. That's not just a motto, others did live that day, approximately 60 lives were saved because of Bill's heroic actions and sacrifice.

The Air & Space Forces Association is planning an event to commemorate Bill Pitsenbarger's 60th anniversary of his historic actions. The location is Piqua, Ohio, Bill's hometown, just north Daytona, OH, area off 1-75.

We’re excited to introduce this Guardian Angel Rescue Squadron Spouse’s Resiliency event. Helping spouses navigate military life and deployments is something that is near and dear to our hearts. This event is offered to all the PJ Spouses within 38th Rescue Squadron.

The event is expected to include up to 30 Spouses. We’re preparing sessions that will include mind, body and soul support for the rigors of the military life style.  After a few hours of facilitated roundtable Q&A, discussion on deployment ebbs and flows, and guidance on how to deal with the PJ life while on active duty, the group will participate in an activity we know they’ll all enjoy. Taking care of the home front so our military members can do their job is our goal!

Peter Kraines Memorial Golf Tournament

Peter Kraines Memorial Golf Tournament

PJF is honored to engage directly for the seventh annual Peter Kraines Memorial Golf Tournament. We expect this event will be held at the Carolina Trace Country Club. If you have donated in the past, or had the privilege of playing in the tournament, Thank You! The memorial tournament allows us to show Peter’s family that they are loved, and still a part of this community.

During the previous tournaments all proceeds went directly to Peter’s wife and children. Moving forward, Emily Kraines has requested that the proceeds benefit other Gold Star families in addition to her family. She has assisted the Pararescue Foundation in creating the Gold Star Family Education Program (GSFEP). This program supports pre-collegiate education for children of fallen Pararescueman. Emily and Peter’s two children will still benefit from this fund, but it does not stop at just their family. What an incredible testimony to the Kraines family and their continued generosity towards others!

There are multiple avenues to support this event, including hole sponsorships, prize donations for the raffle, volunteer positions to help with the tournament. The Pararescue Foundation can receive Sponsorship and Donations via our “Donate” page and can be sent directly to PJF via check to: Pararescue Foundation, P.O. Box 809, Milford, MI 48381. If you questions about supporting this event, please email KrainesMGT@gmail.com or info@pj.foundation.

Updates for this event will be posted as we get closer to the actual event date. Thank you for making this tournament possible!

The Pararescue Foundation’s - Operator & Spouses Retreat - new name - Family…Mission Possible, is a 5-day Course Of Instruction (COI) aimed at providing pragmatic tools and the renewing of the crucial fabric of the warrior’s head, heart, and gut. Many times, cultural stoicism deter most from discussing issues within, often resulting in high, but suppressed, anxiety felt by those closest to the individual. Over time, this lifestyle erodes family relationships and trusted teams. As we all know too well, it’s all about our commitment to building, nurturing and retaining our most important relationships, spouses and family, along with the teams. This mindset and committed lifestyle, is paramount to consistently achieving and sustaining Mission success. If you’re interested in attending, please connect with us here; POC: Denise Schultz, Program Director: (717) 752-0857 or denise@gettysburglodges.com -https://www.gettysburgaccommodations.com/resilient-warrior-project or contact the Pararescue Foundation at info@pj.foundation.
